Worship City founders, Terry & Barbi Franklin, led numerous worship sets at David’s Tent DC since 2012 for their friend, Jason Hershey, founder of DTDC. God stirred their hearts that “Worship City” (Nashville) needs 24/7 worship, with fasting, prayer, and God’s Word penetrating Tennessee’s state capital.  With Jason Hershey’s encouragement, God led them to begin gathering worship and prayer leaders from across Tennessee to pray together in unity to hear God’s heart, and soon, David’s Tent Nashville was born.  It may not have looked like much, but God is using David’s Tent Nashville to inspire leaders across America to raise up more tents!  Watch highlights here of David’s Tent Nashville, and read more about it below embedded video.

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is theLord’s purpose that prevails.”
Prov 19:21

Many testimonies of what God did during David’s Tent Nashville will be on Worship City TV over the months to come, and many new fasting, prayer, and worship movements are already springing up through the inspiration of what God did here in Worship City.  Stay tuned to the Worship City TV link on this website under the “Information” menu.  We promise it will inspire YOU and your community to pray more for revival and awakening!  And soon we will see a harvest of souls out of this fresh move of God!

Over the last 30 years, Terry & Barbi, who also founded Heart for the World in 1985, have seen how fasting, prayer, and worship have been the combustion in the spiritual realm to change not only cities, but nations.  Barbi said, “After seeing it firsthand in 2011, we decided that if revival can happen in Egypt, where we see literally millions of people coming to Christ, surely it can happen in Nashville!”  So these prayer and worship leaders simply fast, pray, worship, and seek God’s will for Nashville …so His presence is known in all the earth.

Over the course of a year of seeking God together, He slowly, step by step, began to unveil a plan to do a 40 day fast together ending with David’s Tent Nashville (24/7 prayer and worship during The Feast of Tabernacles in 2015) they named, “Worship City Transformation.”  God confirmed our plans through other leaders who had similar plans, so we all joined together, submitting to one another according to the Lord’s guidance.  It was significant to us all that this 40 day fast ended during the Sukkot (which is also the word for David’s “Tent”), when the Jewish people have gathered together for millenniums to remember their deliverance from Egypt, rejoice in God’s provision in the Wilderness, and look ahead to that promised Messianic age when all nations will flow to Jerusalem to worship the Lord.

This feast is unique in that the Gentile nations also were invited in ancient times to come up to Jerusalem at this season to worship the Lord alongside the Jewish people.  This tradition first arose from the command given to Moses that Israel should sacrifice seventy bulls at Sukkot, which were offered for the seventy nations descended from Noah (see Numbers 29:12-35).  When Solomon later dedicated his Temple at Sukkot, he also called on the Lord to hear the prayers of all the foreigners that would come there to pray (2 Chronicles 6:32-33). Thus, Jerusalem and the Temple itself were destined from the start to be a “house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7; Matthew 21:13). Because we as Christians are grafted into the vine, we know the Jews are an important part of our heritage, as the New Covenant is built on their Old Covenant history.

The spirit on Egypt during years of bondage was the spirit of Rahab, also called Laviathon.  It means “arrogance and defiance against God, rebellion, apostasy, strife, and is a ‘do nothing’ spirit.”  Does this sound like some of the backslidden and even atheist youth of our nation, who need God’s love and compassion, and a fresh revelation of His existence?  It seemed appropriate, while claiming Nashville back to be “Worship City,” that they plan a celebration of worship during this feast, symbolizing and claiming deliverance from that same spirit of apostasy and defiance that has increasingly been on our city and nation.

Through numerous signs and wonders, and confirmations from God’s Word, the Lord has shown the Worship City leaders that the rain of His spirit is coming.  Back in 2014, as they prayed weekly for the rain of God’s glory to fall on Nashville and America to bring revival, awakening, and a harvest of souls, God confirmed that this would happen.  One of the verses God gave them, including to Terry & Barbi through their son, Travis, was 1 Kings 18:41 “…there is the sound of a heavy rain.”  Terry & Barbi will share this story, and many other answers to prayer, on the Worship City TV channel soon in a series called, “Miracles for You, Part 1” and “Miracles for You, Part 2” (soon adding Part 3).

Miracles are given by God to encourage, confirm, and reveal God’s will.  They are not given as “stand alone” truth, as we know that in the last days there will be “false prophets” who also do miracles.  But as believers, we should all seek God, and expect miracles in our lives, because God our Father loves us and answers prayer according to His will and promises that are written in His Word.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!

As the Worship City leaders continue to cry out to God together, worshiping in unity and passion, we fully expect God to “Change our city to change the world!”
