Worship City with David’s Tent Tennessee

Sept 2-6, 2021 – Core Values Statement

We do these events because Jesus deserves it. Fully God and fully man, Jesus succeeded where each of us has failed, since Adam’s fall. Jesus’ perfect obedience to The Father by His death and resurrection; broke the power of sin, death, Hell and the grave that disfigured all of creation. The cleanness and freedom that every heart longs for is now within reach – in Jesus. We want to be a voice for our nation, shouting “thank you” and “we love you,” to Jesus!

Loving Jesus and declaring His worth is our agenda. We are neither protesting nor promoting social or political viewpoints. David’s Tent Tennessee, the main worship tent, is not a forum for preaching, prophesying, or even extended intercession on the platform – but it is a forum for worship, thanksgiving, adoration, and scriptural songs of prayer and love to Jesus. Prayer warriors will be at the plaza interceding for our city, nation, and world during this event, and ministry to people can take place any time under the small tents on the perimeter of the main worship tent.

We let our light shine. We are so in love with Jesus that we just cannot resist introducing others to His presence and glory. The Bible says, He tabernacles among us, and WE are the temple of the Holy Spirit. So, though we will not preach from the stage, our prayer and worship leaders are ready at the plaza and on the streets for any opportunities to minister to people’s needs, especially in the “Need Prayer?” tent. In obedience to Jesus’ great commission, we want to personally share the good news of salvation to all who are open. We will have small tents surrounding the main worship tent where ministers are ready to pray or give free resources for specific needs. We have seen many lives touched and changed by God’s presence, simply from the continuous worship.

The Main Worship Tent is a celebration! “The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous” (Psalm 118:15). Our songs in the worship tent will be focused on thanking, adoring and praising Jesus more than laying requests before Him. And whether anyone else is in the tent participating along or not, the worshipers are focused on Jesus, not performing. We want to create an atmosphere in our city and nation that values, glorifies, and delights in Jesus, above all else. We want Music City to become “Worship City,” fulfilling the true, pure reason and purpose for music!

Everyone’s song is valuable. The role of each worship leader is to encourage people to a greater release of their own unique expression of love to Jesus, not to provide a performance for an audience. Each believer in Jesus is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Church’s great song of love to Jesus will be lacking if any voice is silent. We want worship to God reverberating in passionate, unified chorus from Worship City to the world. When 2 or 3 are gathered in His name… He is in the midst of them (Matt. 18:20).

We embrace unity. All church denominations, generations, races, and musical styles come together at David’s Tent Tennessee in Worship City, to lavish love on Jesus. Every church, ministry, and denomination can agree on one thing – Jesus is worthy of our love and honor! The perfect unity Jesus prayed for in John 17:21 is God’s will. And God commands His blessing and anointing on His people when they are unified (Psalm 133). We must be unified in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

We honor all, but exalt only Jesus. We invite the Church’s finest talent to lead us, but all titles, achievements and accolades are left at the door of the Tent. We gather around Jesus’ throne in equal humility, exalting only Him. We count it a privilege to become a nameless, faceless generation that makes famous the name of Jesus alone!

We honor Jerusalem. We are inspired by David’s expression of devotion in setting up a tent for 33 years for the ark of the Lord’s presence with hundreds of singers and thousands of instrumentalists day and night. It was the most vibrant time in Israel’s history because of this! But we are under no illusion that our city, nation, or any other has taken the place of Israel in God’s plan for mankind. God calls Himself “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,” and we honor their descendants as we have been “grafted into the vine” of God’s family through Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.
